As the name might imply private messages are just that: private messages sent to you by another user, meant to be read by you and you only. Upon receiving notice of a new message, that new message indicator will disappear once you enter your mailbox (whether or not you've actually read the new messages).
Your inbox can hold a maximum of 50 messages. Once you reach that capacity, the oldest message will be automatically deleted to make room for the newest unread message. When you send a private message to another user, it stays in your outbox until it is read by the recipient. At that time, it will automatically go into your sentbox.
Unless you are sure the sender wouldn’t mind, please practice some common courtesy and keep messages sent to you by another user to yourself. If you feel you’re being harassed by another user via private message, by all means copy that message to a moderator. The administrator and moderators do not have access to your private messages.
As always, direct any questions or concerns to a moderator. |
