Roseannearchy against The Devil: ‘the end':

The End Have you noticed how every tale about a little girl or boy on an adventure in a mysterious place, where it’s never quite clear if things are real or imagined, seems to return home with a lesson learned? I guess it’s fitting that mine should, too. Whether Doro- thy comes back from Oz and decides there’s no place like home or Alice comes to her senses with vivid memories of Mad Hatters and Cheshire cats (whatever that meant), the story is always about self-discovery. It was like that for me, too. There was always a twist or turn to amaze me—what with Hollywood, big-time TV, running around the world and sometimes not knowing if I was running toward something or away from it. You may be surprised that somebody doing all that running can stay so pleasingly plump and then some. But I’ve had quite a voyage—one that was as crazy and exciting as money and a ticket to Tinseltown can provide. Although I have to say that the best part, when I look back, was probably the leg of the journey before I got rich and famous. It was the breaking-out part that was the best—the part that started with me taking the saucy little jokes I cooked up at my kitchen table and serving them up to the yahoos in the bars, the lesbians in the church basements, and all the rest of the folks who looked into the funhouse mirror of my humor and either laughed or looked away. And then, finally, there I was, sitting onstage beside the great Johnny Carson—the wizard who sat in front of the curtain. That … [Read more...]

Hail Hail a VaGenius has left this realm-Joan Rivers, Rest in Peace.

She was always surprising us, always defying the status quo, always courageous, loud opinionated and damning. Her movie, ‘The Girl Most Likely’ starred Stockyard Channing, and was the funniest thing I ever saw on TV. A hilarious story of a girl who is mistreated and gets real revenge, instead of being full of ‘forgiveness’-the usual female ‘media message’ fare.   Joan was constantly praised and then hounded by sexist Hollywood for having an independent point of view and a sense of unmatched female inner power-no one has ever seen such a fierce woman in any media. She paid the cost to be the boss-most comics couldn’t hold up mentally to the kind of humiliation that Hollywood put Joan Rivers through. She turned it all back on their sexism though, like St. Joan The Conquerer. She kept getting braver and braver.   I must admit when she told fat jokes about Liz Taylor, I didn’t like that at all! I didn’t want anyone to point out Liz’s weight, because I weighed about 220 then. At one point I couldn’t help but laugh at one of her fat jokes, against my will. She could make you do a spit take! Laughing at what offends us can sometimes make everything feel lighter. After all, it’s Ok to be fat, and to laugh about it. Fat people fall in love and have sex and love to laugh at fat jokes because it’s better to laugh than to cry. It was better for us, that Joan Rivers not only made fun of her own looks, but also the cultural pressure that drove her to worry about … [Read more...]

Pedophilia enabling follows around GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate – by Brian Crowell

Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Nebraska Ben Sasse, already struck by allegations that he helped cover up the sexual abuse of underage male pages while tutoring and proctoring the House Page Program in the late 1990s, is now faced with another brush with pederasty and pedophilia as a result of the conviction of the former chief of cyber-security for the Department of Health and Human Services. The chief of cyber-security for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Timothy DeFoggi, was convicted by a jury for the U.S. District Court of Nebraska in Omaha for "engaging in a child exploitation enterprise, conspiracy to advertise and distribute child pornography, and accessing a computer with intent to view child pornography in connection with his membership in a child pornography website." DeFoggi used the sites, including two called PedoBook and Onion Pedo Video Archive, to traffic in child pornography. The sites were operated in Omaha by Aaron McGrath, who used the Tor anonymity service to cover the tracks of himself and clients like DeFoggi. DeFoggi is a former resident of Germantown, Maryland. Last December, Ryan Loskarn, the chief of staff for Tennessee Republican Senator Lamar Alexander, was arrested at his Capitol Hill home for possession and distribution of child pornography. The following month, he reputedly committed suicide at his parents' home in Sykesville, Maryland. Sykesville is a 45 minute drive from Germantown. Loskarn previously worked … [Read more...]
