Here in Gaza, more than 10 people have been killed so far in the Israeli operation named “Pillar of Defence” within the last 7 hours, including countless children such as 7-year-old child Ranan
Arafat and an 11 month old baby. We’ve seen charred bodies of dead and injured children pouring in to Al Shifa hospital of Gaza City and the other depleted hospitals around the Gaza Strip. 50 airstrikes all over the Gaza Strip so far. Deafening explosions shook us all as bombs landed close to us in the streets near the Universities. Huge explosions are landing all around us in Gaza City now as I write, some entire families have been injured. We can also hear the shelling of Israeli Gunships. Announcement of possible Israeli land invasion very soon.
More than 330 children were killed in the last bloody operation like this in operation Cast Lead, killing over 1400 in total the vast majority civilians. We are reporting from hospitals, streets and bombed areas. How many, terrified in there homes will have their lives shortened by tomorrow, or after the days of airstrikes, tank shellings and Gunship missiles Israel has announced. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Palast, who has led investigations for governments on three continents, has an academic side: the author of Democracy and Regulation, a seminal treatise on energy corporations and government control was commissioned by the United Nations based on his lectures at Cambridge University and the University of São Paulo.
Beginning in the 1970s, having earned his degree in finance at the University of Chicago studying under Milton Friedman and free-trade luminaries, Palast went on to challenge their vision of a New Global Order, working for the United Steelworkers of America, the Enron workers’ coalition in Latin America and consumer and environmental groups worldwide.

His writings have won him the Financial Times David Thomas Prize–and inspired the Eminem video, Mosh. “An American hero,” said Martin Luther King III. In the BBC documentary, Bush Family Fortunes, Palast exposed George Bush Jr.’s dodging the Vietnam War draft. Greg Palast, says Noam Chomsky, “Upsets all the right people.”

A little background History of the CCC:
The 20th Century Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was proposed by Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 21, 1933 and signed into LAW by him on March 31, 1933. It was his first of many “Alphabet Soup” New Deal programs that saved our hide!
During the 1930s under the Franklin Roosevelt administration, one of many three-letter programs, collectively referred to as the National Recovery Act, was the Civilian Conservation Corps.
The CCC recruited young men for work on conservation projects in national parks and elsewhere. The lived on site in camps similar to those of the military.
This was a very worthwhile project not only for the good of the country but also for the lasting benefit it provided for the men involved, who would have otherwise have been unemployed during our worst depression.
America and the world really needs this program! Many young men and women here lead lives of quiet desperation. No program exists today that will provide them with the needed supervision and guidance to be accountable for their actions and become responsible citizens and stewards of their lands and waters. We now also have to have our future generations repair our mess or perhaps perish.
So for nine years from 1933 to 1942, the Civilian Conservation Corps was the biggest and most successful federal work program in history, and the government’s most lasting environmental effort as well. The Civilian Conservation Corps demonstrated that there was absolutely no conflict between the preservation of the environment and the creation of jobs!
The 20th century CCC provided work, remedial and vocational training for unemployed and unskilled single young men and war veterans through conserving and developing the country’s natural resources!
The new 21st century CCC would include women in their ranks and be run by the US Government/public sector and would be a shovel-ready program and provide actual green job training and job experience for generations.
