Report from Kesha Rogers Campaign
Here are two updated reports on the Kesha Rogers’ for U.S. Senate campaign, Kesha is running for the Democratic seat in Texas, with the primary scheduled for March 4th.
1. Kesha Addresses The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce
Kesha Rogers addressed an audience of approximately 200 attendees at a chamber of commerce held in north Houston. Kesha and one additional campaign organizer attended the event. The campaign had a literature table set up among other candidate tables in the back of the room that attracted a lot of attention, given that Kesha was the only Democrat in the room, but also, unlike the generic campaign tables set up, she shocked some people with her sign that read, “When Kesha Wins, Obama is Finished!,with a large picture of Kesha’s face. They were the only table there with any real policy solutions displayed. Candidates were given two minutes to speak, and there were three other Republican Senate candidates there.
In Kesha’s speech, she began by introducing herself as a LaRouche Democrat, working with economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche, who had addressed the group in 1996 when he was running for President. She went on to say that there are two grave problems threatening our nation, a lawless President Obama in the White House, who must be impeached now, and a bankrupt financial system. She called for the crushing of Wall St. through the immediate reinstatement of Glass-Steagall. She also warned the audience of a greater threat facing the state and the nation, a food and water crisis, threatening starvation. She briefly described her solution for a Kennedy supported NAWAPA plan, in complete opposition to the killer environmental green policy of Obama’s food depleting biofuels and fracking.
Following her brief remarks, Kesha had several people come up to thank her. One lady said that her remarks were so powerful that it had her crying. Another guy said that she really kicked his ass. People also reflected on the fact that most of the other candidates were more concerned with talking about how hot their wives were and how many kids they had, than talking about what is going on in the country and providing any real solutions. Even two of the other Senate candidates came over to Kesha inspired by what she had done. The Rogers campaign made the point to everyone there, that they are leading the fight to impeach Obama now and that is what they have to move their congressman to act upon.
2. Broad support emerging for Kesha, as Obama Dems freak out
Report from Harley Schlanger
The release of a poll this week by Texas Tribune/University of Texas, which shows Kesha Rogers leading the race for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate, has provoked a palpable panic, reflected in myriad articles by press whores for Obama, and frantic activity from Obama’s Texas operatives. Screaming about how she is “not a real Democrat,” the real object of their wrath is Texas voters, who refuse to accept Obama as ‘The One.’
Obama operatives in the national Democratic Party launched a drive to ‘Turn Texas Blue,’ following the 2012 election, based on the insane idea that the Democrats could take advantage of “demographics”, by which they mean an increasing Hispanic population in Texas, to snatch the state away from the GOP. It is based on the belief that Hispanics see Obama as a “transformational figure,” and will become Democrats because of him. After setting up “Battleground Texas,” to use computer technology to map out where their prospective haul of “new voters” would emerge, they have been handing out money to political pimps, and set up “training sessions” to recruit new organizers. Then they recruited a multi-millionaire, dental entrepreneur David Alameel, to run for the U.S. Senate, knowing he could not win the general election, but would be a safe choice to be their candidate in November. Also, they could use his money to pay their bills. In the past, Alameel had contributed lavish amounts to Republicans, including to current GOP gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott, and to his would-be opponent — assuming he won the Democratic primary for Senate — Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn!
The next step was to announce the Texas Future Project, which would raise money from wealthy donors IN TEXAS AND CALIFORNIA, to fund a get-out-the-vote campaign, focused on Latinos, African-Americans, single women, and young voters, to build up a pool of new voters. A key to this was to channel money to an infrastructure staffed by Democratic Party activists, and members of the AFL-CIO, SEIU, AFSCME and UCFW. We have been told that labor has had, at best, a lukewarm commitment to this.
This whole strategy has gone up in smoke with the emergence of Kesha Rogers as a front-runner. Rogers’ support exposes the biggest vulnerability of this strategy, namely OBAMA. Whether the one poll is accurate or not, the Obama Democrats who run the state party know that they are taking a serious risk by attacking her for her call to impeach Obama, as Obama and his policies of genocide and war are very unpopular among Texans, including among the demographic sectors targeted by their techno-wonks, and that calling attention to her impeach Obama campaign would backfire, bringing “new voters” to vote for her. This happened in 2010 and 2012, as attacks on Kesha by party hacks consolidated support for her, especially among voters who don’t like being told how to vote! As a result, the party enforcers are losing their cool, using Joseph McCarthy-style “loyalty oaths” and threats to withdraw funds to force local Dems to dis-invite Kesha to events to which she had been previously invited, and exclude her from others, under the thoroughly discredited line that “she is not a real (i.e., Wall Street approved) Democrat.”
In meetings and discussions in San Antonio yesterday, it was confirmed that, while some Hispanic leaders are taking money from the Texas Future Project, they are doing nothing to earn it. One leader, who is working openly with Kesha, said that he had initially disagreed with Kesha”s “strategy” of calling for Obama’s impeachment. “I was wrong,” he said, “People are ready to throw him out.” Another Hispanic leader said that he can’t hold it against those “community organizers” taking the money from the Dems, as many of them are desperate due to the economic collapse. However, they also know that this President has deported more Latinos than Bush — “There is no love for him, and our community will respond to someone standing up against him.”
Plans were mapped out with them for a drive over the last days leading up to the primary to mobilize for Obama’s impeachment, and Kesha’s victory.
