How Romney Really Feels!

“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax… My job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

  1. Romney explains, to a crowd that paid to see him, donated to his campaign “… they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax… My job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

You cut out a lot of it. Propaganda will get you everywhere with useful idiots, but not with people who know what commas are, and what Romney was getting across.

Was it artful? Nah. Is it incorrect? Not perfectly accurate, but it’s sure not all wrong. Some folks are dependent on government with good reason. Do you REALLY think he was talking about them? Please. Plus, he was talking about how lots of people won’t care about him cutting income tax BECAUSE THEY DON’T PAY THAT TAX. So, they’re not paying a tax and they are thoroughly self-interested. In a childish, done nothing for nobody they didn’t have to, way.

47 percent of people will be voting for Obama for lame-asses reasons, maybe he should have just said that and not tried to list the various reasons. Heck, 90 or 95% of blacks voted for him in 2008. You think they all did it because they were fully informed about Obama?

    HAH!

    • The problem, J Ruse, is that people – yourself included, apparently – don’t understand that the vast majority of the 47% of Americans that Romney disparaged as lazy parasites are the elderly, the disabled and the working poor.

The largest percentage of that so-called “government teat-sucking class” are working poor – the 28.3% of Americans who WORK, pay PAYROLL TAXES, but whose incomes are SO LOW they are already living at or below the poverty line and thus qualify for tax credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit & Child Tax Credit. Those are anti-poverty measures & tax credits historically supported by Republicans by overwhelming margins, but that must be eliminated by the Romney/Ryan budget in order to make the math even plausible.

Those, my dear J Ruse, are the facts you don’t hear on Fox News during their “BOO!! Half you free-loaders aren’t paying your fair share…” pep rallies they try to pass off as “news”.

If you care to get your facts straight, which I doubt you do, there are some colorful, simple, easy to read graphs & pie charts with verifiable data that help to illustrate the unapologetic ignorance, overtly malicious intent & true heartlessness of Mitt Romney’s comments here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/wp/2012/09/18/who-doesnt-pay-taxes-in-charts/

If you’re going to show up here defending the indefensible, you better have some data to back up your nonsensical claims. Otherwise you cast yourself as calloused asshole who believes someone sitting on a mountain of cash thumbing his nose at poor people who worry on a daily basis about how to pay their electric bill is the standard by which “good Christians” should be measured.

  2. Love you Roseanne!

  3. Yeah, I HATE being dependent on the gov. because I’m disabled. I even postponed it 7 years by starting a biz. Now I’m living on next to nothing. My parent are both dead….my father when I was 10, I witnessed his death. It was very unexpected. Now I am very poor, trying to raise my preschool grandchild. I’m way below the poverty line, next month I have to turn my monthly check over to property taxes. My van is broke down, our well went dry, and no water sucks! Do you think anyone cares? No they don’t! I have no one to help me financally, the state has decreased my foodstamps, saying they overpaid me $1000. in reality it was for the months that the wee ones were living with me without benefits! Since 2007 they (state) have been messing with me- by out of the blue take my medicaid away! A + B = C, and C is way below their cut off limit. So how can they do that???? I have spent years and years driving and calling every available agency and help that is offered to get this fixed and somehow mysteriously doesn’t get fixed. (although sometimes they will tell me that they have the error all fixed but its not!) I have PTSS, major depression from childhood, anxiety. And they pull this crap on me! They won’t be happy until I stroke out. I labored hard, construction work, traveled New England, work looong hours, and was underpaid. And look where it got me! It must be nice to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth. I suffer with pain and pot helps me deal with it, but for some reason they don’t want you to feel better. They push you full of pills, use you for a guinea pig, then they want to convince you that your addicted to your meds. News Flash, as long as your meds are going to your pain you do not become addicted to it! Unless they consider a little pain relief an addiction. Wake up! Romney lives in a bubble and has a whole different perspective on live than those of us that had to work our butt of to earn a living for our family!!
