My gift to you, and Ms. Barr for inspiring this apex-reaching Nana to write again, Love & thanks to you.
T’was the year of enlightenment, yet all through the land
All the creatures were hurting, some barely could stand
They’d been lied to and harmed and fed poison and such,
They felt that their lives were not worth very much,
Then shined a great light, so bright to behold
That brought love and truth, and that knowledge of old
And they rose and looked upward and said “here, at last
Our Kingdom has come, the old earth has passed.”
“We’ll build cities and roads and a brand new highway,
And we’ll sing to our King for he shows us the way,
We’ll teach nations to plant in the positive way,
And send rain in due season for those who obey.”
The spirit will whisper, “go right” or “go left”
For those badly broken, whose heart is bereft.
We’ll sing for the Sabbath, and for every feast,
All sorrows have ended from the most to the least,
The earth we will garden and feed every soul,
And quench every thirst from the watering hole.
Living waters spring forth, from here to afar,
At last, we can rest, for now here we are.
