It is not at all about any religious views or right winged religious fanatics…every single issue and especially the issue of ‘gay marriage’ always goes back to one issue…MONEY! If it was legal and allowed the heterosexuals fear a loss of monies. For example, collecting ur spouses retirement…being a dependent on ur spouses medical insurance, etc. They fear if will drive up premium expenses and the corporations and businesses do not want to pay retirement benefits no matter how many years that may last. Legalizing gay marriage would rock the financial plan. They hide behind the moral issue, which there isn’t one, but it is all about the money.

Your last part right there about straight people, I assume you mean straight conservative people, only thinking about the sex aspect of a same sex relationship is absolutely right! That’s because it is only in the last few years that people have become aware, thanks to the pioneers in the media or Hollywood (dare I say), that gay people actually love each other just like hetero’s do. I truly believe being gay is not a choice, i dont remember the moment i chose to be gay, so these people who pray the gay away just piss me off. I think it does tons of damage to the people who they are attempting to convert which some of you talked about already. What is even more amazing is people like these even being considered remotly having a chance to run for president. I posted about this before, but here in iowa gay marraige was made legal a couple years ago, and of course there was an outrage from conservatives. The iowa supreme court unaninmously voted that banning gay marraige was unconstitutional so what happened? they stupid sheep voted out 5 of the 7 judges that were just doing there jobs. I have been with my man for 3 years and i dont know how i feel about getting married cause im too much of a bitch to jump into something like that lightly, however i hate to think the option could be taken away from me before i get to the point to make that decision. I swear straight people think more about gay sex than gay people do sometimes.
