You will land on your feet. Can you imagine if Johnny Carson had started to do a ten pm show ahead of Jay when Jay started on the tonight show? (Johnny had too much class to do something so completely asshole like).
It’s like pissing in the punchbowl. Who would devise a way to ruin the only good franchise your network has, one that has been there for decades?
Conan is innovative, and could have revived a sagging franchise, making it young and hip, relevant and funny again. Jay is ruining what is left of his “all american good guy” image and looks clingy desperate and mean.
Perhaps he is afraid that if he leaves TV, he cannot be instrumental in getting creepy right wing republicans like Arnold elected anymore.
