For meditation breathing…kawnswellah and others…just breathe normally, but count to ten while you are drawing the breath in. Then hold it calmly for ten, then blow out for ten.. no one should be able to tell that you are altering your breathing at all…make it so calm that it is noticeable only to you. By doing this, you are opening your mind’s middle path. The middle is when you are holding the breath, and not breathing in or out, just for a quick ten count. While you are holding in the middle of this three part breath exercise…think about the breath being god’s breath.
